Argentinian Choripán (Sausage Sandwiches)
Serves 8
Grilled fresh chorizo in crusty bread topped with chimichurri is a popular Argentinian street food. In Argentina, fresh chorizo is flavored with smoked paprika and garlic. You can substitute with spicy fresh pork or beef sausage, if you prefer.
Ingredients
- 4 links chorizo, spicy beef, or pork sausage
- 1 baguette or ciabatta lunga, cut to fit the length of your sausage
- Chimichurri
- OPTIONAL for serving:
- tomatoes, chopped
- red onion, chopped
Directions
- Preheat grill. Cook sausages over medium heat, turning a couple of times until cooked through and richly browned.
- While sausages cook, cut bread in half, lengthwise. If you like, pull out some of the center of the bread to better fit sausages. Toast bread on grill, cut side down, during last few minutes of grilling sausages.
- To serve, spread chimichurri on cut sides of each roll. Add a grilled sausage and optional toppings. Cut in half for appetizer portions.
